After the extraordinarily successful “ESNters the City” Berlin we would like to invite you to come to Cologne from the 15th to the 17th of June! Join us for another unforgettable “ESNters the City” weekend which is also an excellent opportunity to celebrate the ERASMUS anniversary together!

"Hey Kölle - Du bes e Jeföhl" (“Hey Cologne, you’re a feeling“) is one of the most famous songs from Cologne band called “Höhner“. But what is it about this atmosphere of Cologne that makes it so special that it is even the subject of a song? The answer to this question has as many facets as the city itself: the town with its famous cathedral combines patriarchal with modern elements like no other. Old roman settlement Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensum has developed into a megacity in 2000 years. Nowadays it is the biggest city within Northrhine-Westphalia and the fourth biggest city of Germany. Cologne successfully cultivates traditions as well as cultural and architectural heritages, notwithstanding following new trends. Also known as the capital of Carnival, the city hosts many media companies as well as music producers, publishing companies and associations. This led to the reputation of Cologne being the German metropolis of media. Moreover, there are loads of bars and clubs in all socalled “Veedeln“ (districts of the town) for you to discover the Cologne way of partying – something we’re really good at;-)

Apart from that, Cologne is also known as a cultural centre, especially in regard to international art trade. Impressive is the quantity of museums of all kinds that exceeds 30: no matter if you are interested in the far eastern arts or rather in roman history, there is a wide range from which to choose! All university institutions of Cologne enjoy a very good reputation, too, which is why the city can proudly call itself a center of science – the University of Cologne alone has 44,000 students!
